FreePlays.org
If you think you own the rights to one
of our plays
FreePlays.org makes every effort we can think of to ensure that all
plays on our site are original content which infringe no one's
copyright. Some of our methods include:
- Posting plays written by writing classes, storytelling societies,
or other groups. This is not only an excellent creative process,
but also produces plenty of participants, willing to file affadavits
stating that they created the work originally and independently of any
published, copyrighted, or other person's work.
- Posting plays which are adaptations of, or based on, folks tales
or ancient myths.
- Posting plays by individual authors with good reputations for
originality, creativity, and shunning plagarism or infringement.
- Publishing information on the FreePlays.org site explaining how
to avoid infringement, and strongly encouraging contributors not to
infringe.
- Enlisting highly literate volunteers, familiar with modern
fiction and drama, to find out for ourselves if a work is really
original.
- Running statistical analysis software on submitted plays to
determine if they seem to match known works.
- Running internet searches to determine if passages are "lifted"
from texts searchable on the internet.
- Communicating with authors to make sure they understand our need
to keep clean and avoid copyright hassles.
Despite all our best efforts, it is possible that an author could
submit a work to FreePlays.org that infringes your copyright, and that
we could publish that work.
If you believe, in good faith, that any materials on FreePlays.org
infringe your copyright, notifications of claimed copyright
infringement should be sent to our designated agent. Notification
should include:
- A physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of
the owner of the copyright interest.
- A copy of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed,
or substantial excerpts of that work, or a citation where we may find
the work for examination..
- A description of where on FreePlays.org the material you claim is
infringing is located.
- A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the
disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the
law.
- A statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the above
information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright
owner or duly authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

infringement is:
