Source Stories
Here are some source materials. Some of our scripts are based
on
some of these stories. How about turning one of these stories
into a script, and using FreePlays.org to share with the world?
You may do it, or anything else you want. These stories are all
in the public domain.
200 Individual Grimm's Fairy
Tales (plus 10 "Children's Legends"), with links to
FreePlays. Those stories, all in one
zip file.
Another version of only about 75 Grimm's Fairy Tales, all in one HTML file. Those
same stories, in text format.
A nice Book of Nature Myths (PDF)
Aesop's Fables (over 300
of them!), from the public domain.
Jamaican Anansi
Stories (over 150 of them!), from the public domain. Anansi
is an African trickster. Anansi stories are sometimes known as
"Nancy Stories".
Scandinavian Folklore and Legends from Project Gutenberg. Also in text format.
Russian Folk Tales
from Project Gutenberg.
Philippine Folk Tales
plus Philippine Folk
Tales in text format and more Philippine Folk Tales
in text format.from Project
Gutenberg. These three sets don't seem to completely overlap.
